Meet Our Pastors
Pastor Song Tjoa
Since 2014, Song Tjoa has served in NLFOC as a senior minister stewarding the relationships among the pastors of NLFOC.
He was part of the founding eldership team in New Life Christian Church, Singapore, serving in that capacity from 1989 to 2004. From 2004 to 2012, he served as a missionary pastor in Yangon, Myanmar, where he was involved in pastoring and planting churches.
Clarion Newlife Capital
He has been an active venture capital investor since the mid-90’s in numerous early-stage Silicon Valley and China tech and biotech companies. In 2022, he founded Clarion Newlife Capital, a social impact fund (clarionnewlife.com) in an effort to expand the scope of NLFOC’s societal contribution by “fighting poverty through enterprise.”
His (almost) full time endeavor now is leading a refugee learning centre in Penang as well as managing the portfolio companies in Clarion Newlife.
Attesting to this professional diversity, he initially trained as an electrical engineer (UT Austin), holds an MBA (NUS), as well as a Master's and Doctorate in Theology/Ministry (Fuller Theological Seminary)
Family
Song is married to Barbara, who serves alongside him in ministry. They have four adult children and two (foster) grandchildren.
